Global Warming Joke
Pretty funny.
I’m not sure what kind of record the Farmers Almanac has in accurately forecasting long term trends but it can’t be any worse than what we have seen from the Global Warming enthusiasts.

Watch the video first.
Now, he doesn’t talk in this video about solar, hydro, biomass, wave or nuclear energy, and I got the sense that this plan isn’t designed to solve all our energy problems, but to give us 30 or 40 years breathing space in which we can solve our problems. http://www.pickensplan.com/
I also looked at Gore’s Plan. Or, more correctly, Gore’s speech. He didn’t have a plan, just another pie in the sky political speech. He does talk about using all those other sources but it’s more of a “we better change or we’re all gonna die” type of thing. There were no specifics other than lowering payroll taxes and instituting a carbon tax.
Yeah, right Al.
Here’s a graph from the Vostok Ice Core showing temperature variations going back 420,000 years and courtesy of JunkScience.com.
You’ll no doubt note the increase in temperatures at the right side of the graph.
A case of man made global warming?
Hardly. That increase began about 12,000 years ago. The end of the last Ice Age.
You have to look at the scale to understand a graph. Something many people don’t understand.
Lets look at one (also courtesy of JunkScience.com) with a smaller time scale:
Here’s a link to the original data.
I’m still looking for something to be concerned about.
Christopher Booker and Richard North are the authors of “Scared to Death: From BSE to Global Warming: Why Scares are Costing Us the Earth” where they write about modern day scares such as Mad Cow Disease, SARS and Global Warming.
They also wrote an article, which appeared in the British newspaper The Telegraph, called The deceit of global warming where they address the lies, deceit and general BS used by members of the global warming crowd, including Al Gore.
This is one of the best all around treatments of the subject that I’ve seen published. Brief excerpt:
Yet recently, stage five of the story has seen all sorts of question marks being raised over Gore’s alleged consensus. For instance, he claimed that by the end of this century world sea levels will have risen by 20 ft when even the IPCC in its latest report, only predicts a rise of between four and 17 inches. There is also of course the harsh reality that, wholly unaffected by Kyoto, the economies of China and India are now expanding at nearly 10 per cent a year, with China likely to be emitting more CO2 than the US within two years.
More serious, however, has been all the evidence accumulating to show that, despite the continuing rise in CO2 levels, global temperatures in the years since 1998 have no longer been rising and may soon even be falling.
It was a telling moment when, in August, Gore’s closest scientific ally, James Hansen of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, was forced to revise his influential record of US surface temperatures showing that the past decade has seen the hottest years on record. His graph now concedes that the hottest year of the 20th century was not 1998 but 1934, and that four of the 10 warmest years in the past 100 were in the 1930s.
Furthermore, scientists and academics have recently been queuing up to point out that fluctuations in global temperatures correlate more consistently with patterns of radiation from the sun than with any rise in CO2 levels, and that after a century of high solar activity, the sun’s effect is now weakening, presaging a likely drop in temperatures.
If global warming does turn out to have been a scare like all the others, it will certainly represent as great a collective flight from reality as history has ever recorded. The evidence of the next 10 years will be very interesting.
Oh my goodness! You mean Man Made Global Warming could be a hoax? A panic? A scare?
What really surprises me is how normally rational, intelligent people can be so easily hood winked. The same sort of thing was at work in the tech bubble of the late 1990’s, the recent real estate bubble, the Iraq War, the Tulip bubble in Holland.
What, you don’t remember Tulip mania? Well, it happened in the 1600’s, and, long story short, people were paying the equivalent of thousands of dollars for a flower. Not lots of flowers, but ONE flower. Pretty stupid isn’t it?
Is it just the Madness of Crowds? The Herd Mentality? Are the issues too complex for normal people to understand? Would they rather just sit on their butts watching American Idol? Does that guy with the sign that says “The End is Near” know something we don’t?
When I set out to learn about Global Warming and what I could do to mitigate my contribution, it took a grand total of about four hours of research to convince me that Man Made Global Warming was bull, and 96 minutes of that was watching Al Gore’s Power Point presentation, err, I mean movie.
By the way. Did you know Al Gore bought a multi-million dollar condo in San Francisco? Isn’t that, according to his movie, supposed to be under water soon?
