Liberal Attack Dogs Show True Colors

The liberal left has kicked their attack machine into high gear with John McCains choice of Sarah Palin.

Here are some exerpts from forums, blogs and even mainstream media:

That Wily Old John McCain sure knows how to pick ‘em. We should have all seen this coming since he has such a penchant for Beauty Queens.
Cindy might have reason for concern….. I mean last time, John left Carol either because she became disabled, or because he wanted to be 25 when he was 40…. Now that he’s 72, maybe he wants to be 45.

She’s a woman and knows what all men want

The idea of Palin going to Washington and reforming everything is laughable. Like the national Republican Party is going to let a stewardess tell them what for.

Oh man.
Just found this on YouTube.
If elected, Palin would qualify as a VPILF.

That last part is a derivative of this and I won’t explain it further. It’s totally uncalled for.

From CNN as reported by Amanda Carpenter at Townhall.com, a conversation between John Roberts and Dana Bash:

JOHN ROBERTS: You know, there’s one other issue — we’ve talked about her experience and what depth of experience she has; the fact that maybe she tries to peel off a few women voters on the Democratic side, who really wanted to see a woman in the White House in some way, shape, or form. There’s also this issue that on April 18th, she gave birth to a baby with Down’s Syndrome.
DANA BASH: Yes.

ROBERTS: The baby is just slightly more than four months old now. Children with Down’s syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of Vice President, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?

I think Dana Bash was caught off guard with that “question.” She awkwardly responded: “I guess — my guess is that, perhaps, the line inside the McCain campaign would be, if it were a man being picked who also had a baby, but — you know, four months ago with Down’s Syndrome, would you ask the same question?”

From DailyKos, a left wing website specializing in attack politics, a post suggesting that Sarah’s baby is not her own and might actually be her daughters baby.

Okay, I just have to diary about this, although in many ways this falls into the “none of our business category”.

But it appears that Pallin’s last child, a baby with Down’s syndrome, may not be hers. It may be that of her teenage daughter.

Their proof? A picture they allege was taken when she was six months pregnant. They also don’t bother to point out that the likelihood of having a Down Syndrome baby increases with age.

From this article in The HuffingtonPost.com, another left wing website.

Palin is another Margaret Thatcher or Ann Coulter, a woman who attaches herself to men in power and then does them one better. She uses the freedom that the women’s movement has brought her quash the liberation of women with other views than hers. The bitch is in there, as it is with Coulter and Thatcher and Katherine Harris. The Democrats have to bring that bitch out and she has given us the right to do it.

But wait!!
It gets better.

Who is the boss in her family? If it’s her, then I want to know how that squares with Christian notions of patriarchy. If it’s the husband, then I want to know his values and beliefs about all the issues that face the nation, and I want to know who will actually be the vice president. I want to see her tax returns. I want to see his tax returns.

Goodness gracious!! They had an opportunity to nominate a woman, clinch the election and advance a supposed liberal cause and they blew it. They blew it because they are weak. Obama is too weak to have a strong woman on the ticket and the Dems are too weak to make him. Now they are having a cow because John McCain did have the courage and picked a strong woman. God forbid she might be able to be a good mom AND the Vice President. God forbid she might be strong enough to take on entrenched interests and bring real “change” to the people of Alaska. God forbid she might actually be more than an object of purient interest.

The examples cited above are just that, examples. The internet is full of stuff like this today from the liberal left and they all have a common theme. Hypocrisy. The liberal left is really good at talking the talk but when it’s Republicans who walk the walk they show their true colors and do it in a way that registers on the high end of the Richter Scale.

I have a message for Sarah Palin. Go out there and kick their ass.

Digg It. It’s Easy.

First Impressions of Sarah Palin

To be honest, I didn’t know much about Sarah Palin prior to today. I had heard of her but that’s about it.

My first impressions are:

1. Good public speaker
2. She doesn’t seem to be intimidated by the limelight
3. She exudes self confidence
4. She has a great family story
5. She is firm in her beliefs
6. She seems very likable
7. She’s tough as nails
8. She’s honest
9. She’s wicked smart
10. She’s passionate
11. America is gonna love her
12. The Obama camp isn’t going to know how to handle her
13. She didn’t wear a pant suit

Most overriding impression: Wow!!

Based on everything I’ve heard and read today it looks like John McCain is the one in this campaign that “hit it out of the park.”

Here’s her introduction.

Leaders say Barack isn’t Ready

Obama and Authoritarian Impulses

I’ve written previously about the Barack Obama connection to renowned, and unrepentent, American terrorist Bill Ayers, as well as efforts to hide this connection, here, herehere and here.

Yesterday the researcher looking at the papers of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was scheduled to appear on a radio talk show in Chicago with Milt Rosenberg, a long time radio host. Except for the relationship being more extensive than Obama has been willing to admit, it’s far too early to say what these papers tell us. They have only been available since Tuesday. Here is a podcast of the show.

What is interesting, however, is the reaction to the Stanley Kurtz interview by the Obama people. Here’s the text of an email sent to Obama supporters:

August 28, 2008
In the next few hours, we have a crucial opportunity to fight one of the most cynical and offensive smears ever launched against Barack.

Tonight, WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears. He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.

Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.

Call into the “Extension 720″ show with Milt Rosenberg at (312) 591-7200

(Show airs from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. tonight)

Then report back on your call at http://my.barackobama.com/WGNstandards

Kurtz has been using his absurd TV appearances in an awkward and dishonest attempt to play the terrorism card. His current ploy is to embellish the relationship between Barack and Ayers.

Just last night on Fox News, Kurtz drastically exaggerated Barack’s connection with Ayers by claiming Ayers had recruited Barack to the board of the Annenberg Challenge. That is completely false and has been disproved in numerous press accounts.

It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves. At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz’s lies.

Kurtz is scheduled to appear from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Chicago market.

Calling will only take a minute, and it will make a huge difference if we nip this smear in the bud. Confront Kurtz tonight before this goes any further:

Please forward this email to everyone you know who can make a call tonight.

Keep fighting the good fight,

Obama Action Wire

Goodness. Look at the language of that email. Baseless, fear-mongering, terrorist smears, lies, distortions, manipulations, smear-merchant, a slimy character assassin, divisive, destructive ranting. Stanley Kurtz is anything but a smear-merchant.

What is lacking in a good deal of the Obama supporters I’ve seen is any sort of rationality or familiarity with cold hard facts. The language of that email is evidence of that. More evidence is a report on NRO from Guy Benson, a student at Northwestern University, who was in the studio during the interview.

Evidently, much of Obama nation is composed of obedient and persistent sheep. They jammed all five studio lines for nearly the entire show while firing off dozens of angry emails. Many vowed to kick their grievances up the food chain to station management. After 90 minutes of alleged smear peddling, Milt Rosenberg (a well-respected host whose long-form interview show has aired in Chicago for decades) opened the phone lines, and blind ignorance soon began to crackle across the AM airwaves. The overwhelming message was clear: The interview must be put to an end immediately, and the station management should prevent similar discussions from taking place.

One female caller, when pressed about what precisely she objected to, simply replied, “We just want it to stop!” Another angry caller was asked what “lies” Kurtz had told in any of his reporting on Barack Obama. The thoughtful response? “Everything he said is dishonest.” The same caller later refused to get into “specifics.” Another gentleman called Kurtz “the most un-American person” he’d ever heard. Several of the callers did not even know Stanley’s name, most had obviously never read a sentence of his meticulous research, and more than simply read verbatim from the Obama talking points.

As Rosenberg repeatedly pointed out that Team Obama had been offered the opportunity to take part in the conversation, the agitated masses adapted their argument to suggest it was outrageous to request an interview from the Obama campaign in the thick of the DNC. Delivering the line of the night, Rosenberg countered, “The Obama national headquarters is just down the street from here. They obviously have the time to send out these angry emails, but they can’t walk a few blocks to our studios?”

Throughout the open-line segments, Rosenberg and Kurtz wore incredulous expressions. The hostile callers were so bereft of any legitimate argument, there was little to do but sit back and marvel at what was going on.

The experience was surreal, amusing, and chilling. In a matter of hours, a major national campaign had called on its legions to bully a radio show out of airing an interview with a legitimate scholar asking legitimate political questions. Coupled with the Obama campaign’s recent attempts to sic the DOJ on the creators of a truthful political advertisement —which also happened to feature Obama’s relationship with an unrepentant terrorist— last night’s call to action represents an emerging pattern. Any criticism of Obama’s unknown past is to be immediately denounced as a “smear,” and the messenger is to be shut down at all costs.

More disturbing than the mindless messianic adulation are the attempts by Barack Obama to stifle efforts to bring to light the nature of this relationship with Ayers. This is censorship and a repudiation of the 1st Admendment, pure and simple. If the relationship with Ayers was as innocent as Obama has claimed, then what is the harm in looking at these documents and having Stanley Kurtz appear on a local AM radio show in Chicago?

And there’s the rub.

Barack Obama knows very well how this will play with the American people and it will indeed do great harm to his plans to become President. His attempts to stifle this story are indicative. If he really wants this story to go away he would open up his records and encourage everyone else to do likewise.

But he won’t do that.

When you combine mindless messianic adulation with an propensity to stifle opinion and research, then, as history has shown repeatedly, you have a serious problem.
